The Strategy

OneNJ7 Action Fund, Inc. is built around a simple idea:
Start early, communicate with voters directly, and stay engaged long before election season.

Our work focuses on three things:
1. Repeated communication with infrequent voters.
Repeated contact makes these voters feel informed, included, and more likely to participate.
2. Holding Congressmen Tom Kean Jr. accountable
We run independent messaging that keeps voters aware of what their Representative, Tom Kean Jr., is doing — and we are not beholden to any of the campaigns in getting our messages out.
3. Building the local network needed to win
We bring volunteers, local groups, and community leaders together so outreach can grow over time instead of starting from scratch every election.
Most campaigns wait until the final months before an election.
We believe that’s too late.
Real relationships take time, and in a close district like NJ-7, early engagement can make the difference.

Who We Will Reach
We focus on voters who share our values but don’t always vote in every election.
In a district where elections are often decided by just a few thousand votes, helping even a small number of these voters participate can change the outcome.
Using publicly available voter data, we identify people who are likely to support Democratic candidates but may need more information, more encouragement, or more connection to stay involved.

Why This Approach Works
This strategy isn’t theoretical — it has worked before.
In New Mexico’s 2nd Congressional District, a grassroots effort called BlueCD2 focused on early outreach to infrequent Democratic voters in a district long held by Republicans.
In 2022, the seat flipped by just over a thousand votes.
But the bigger story came later.
Because the outreach continued, the new Democratic incumbent won again in 2024 by more than 11,000 votes.
The lesson is simple:
When voters feel connected early, they keep showing up.
We are applying the same principles here in New Jersey’s 7th District, adapted to our communities, our voters, and our political landscape.
